The Chang School is where everything really got started for me as a writer. Writing can be such a slow, solitary, and doubt-filled activity; these workshops change that. Writing exercises got my ideas unstuck and energized, deadlines helped me finish what I started, and the process of peer and instructor feedback gave me the courage and confidence to keep going. I made great friends in these classes – we still exchange our work!

After doing some research, I found that the Photography Studies Intensive (CDFP 999) program offered at The Chang School was the best option for me. I was looking for a program that I could complete quickly and that would teach me the foundational skills I needed. This 12-week program was challenging at times given the condensed format, but the camaraderie built with other students and my instructors kept me motivated until the end.

The Chang Schools Publishing program equipped me with the skills I need to work in one of the most exciting areas of publishing – design. When I first enrolled in the program, I wanted to become an editor. Although the editorial courses were great, I quickly realized that this was not the best match for me. Luckily, the Publishing program also offers excellent production and design courses.
