How to Enrol in a Course

Ready to enrol in a course at The Chang School? You have three options.

Enrol Online

You can enrol online through the shopping cart feature on our website.

Getting Started Checklist

Before you begin, please confirm the following:

  1. Your web browser and Internet security software are configured to allow for JavaScript and cookies.
     
  2. You have a valid Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card to pay the total course fees.

    (Please note: debit cards, prepaid gift cards, and online banking are not acceptable forms of payment when enrolling online.)

Step 1: Find a Course and Choose a Course Section

Find the course you’re interested in using our Course Search or by browsing our website.

On course description pages, course sections are divided by term (Fall, Winter, and/or Spring/Summer). Choose your preferred course section and select the “Add to Cart” button. A pop-up window will display the items in your shopping cart. You can select “Close” to continue browsing the website and add more courses to your shopping cart, or select “Checkout” to review your shopping cart and begin the checkout process.

Once you have reviewed your cart and completed your optional fees selections, select “Checkout” to be taken to the Log In or Create an Account page.


Step 2: Log In or Create an Account

On the Log In or Create an Account page, you have three options:

Option 1: I have a my.ryerson username

Choose this option if you already have a my.ryerson username and password.

Note: If you have a student email account at Ryerson University, you have a my.ryerson username and password.

Select “Log in using my.ryerson username” and you will be taken to a my.ryerson.ca login screen. Log in and follow the steps to complete your enrolment.

Option 2: I have an RUCE username

Choose this option if you have an RUCE username. An RUCE username is provided when you create a student profile on our website.

Note: If you have a my.ryerson username, choose Option 1: I have a my.ryerson username. Once you have used your my.ryerson username to log into the Chang School website, your RUCE username is no longer active and you must use your my.ryerson username to log in when enrolling in courses.

If you would like to log in using your RUCE username, choose the second option and fill in your RUCE username and password. Once you are logged in, follow the steps to complete your enrolment.

Option 3: I’m a new Ryerson student

Choose Option 3 if you are a new student at Ryerson and The Chang School, or if you don’t have a my.ryerson username.

Enter your email address twice and select “Get Started”. Choosing this option will lead to a page that will require you to create a student profile by filling out an online form. Once your profile is created, you can follow the steps to complete your enrolment.


Step 3: Confirm Your Course Selection(s)

Review your shopping basket. Once your selections have been confirmed, select “Checkout”.

Review the registration policy and select “Checkout” again.


Step 4: Pay for Your Course

Enter your credit card details and select “Submit”. If you do not complete this step, or if the credit card payment cannot be processed, your enrolment transaction will be cancelled.

If your payment is accepted, a confirmation screen will appear indicating that your payment has gone through and the enrolment was successful.


Step 5: Review Payment Confirmation

Review your payment confirmation and check your email for a PDF version of the confirmation.

Please bring a printed copy of your enrolment confirmation to your first class and have it available for the duration of your course(s). Students who are not officially enrolled in a course are not permitted to attend classes.

Note: Read the course description(s) carefully to ensure that you meet the enrolment criteria. Enrolment criteria can include an interview or placement assessment, or prerequisite courses. For more information, refer to Requisites in our Enrolment FAQ.

If you are enrolling in a course that requires an interview or placement assessment, you must obtain permission before enrolling. Online enrolments will not be accepted for courses requiring an interview or placement assessment that has not been completed.

Enrol in Person

Complete and submit the In-person Enrolment form available at the ServiceHub. Please bring your photo ID and be prepared to pay all of your fees when you come to enrol. All fees must be paid in full at time of enrolment. You will be immediately dropped from all associated courses for non-payment of fees. Any students with outstanding fees will be required to clear their debt before completing any further enrolments.

Enrolment forms will be accepted before the third scheduled class if space is still available; however, in Business, online, and Language courses (including ESL/EAL), you must enrol before the second scheduled class.

Please check individual course descriptions to confirm start dates.

If you are enrolling in a course that requires an interview or placement assessment, you must obtain permission before enrolling. Enrolments will not be accepted for courses requiring an interview or placement assessment that has not been completed.

Enrol by Mail

To enrol by mail, you must complete a Mail-in Enrolment Form.

Please note: the Mail-in Enrolment Form is for mailing only and will not be accepted for in-person enrolment.

Return the completed form and full payment of the course fees to the ServiceHub, Ryerson University, 350 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5B 2K3. Mail-in enrolment requests will not be accepted unless full fees are enclosed. (Postdated cheques will not be accepted.)
