Refunds

How to Check Your Tuition Fee Refund Eligibility

To be eligible for a tuition fee refund, you must officially drop your course within the published deadline dates.

This means you must:

  • withdraw five business days in advance of the course start date to obtain a 100 percent refund of course fees for most courses
  • consult the Withdrawal Deadlines section of Important Dates for the published deadline applicable to your course and refund amounts

How to Drop a Course

Courses can be dropped online through MyServiceHub at my.torontomu.ca.

Please note that notifying a course instructor or failing to attend a class does not officially drop you from the course.

Continuing Education Student Refunds

How to Request a Refund

If you drop your course at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, any refund you may be eligible for will be processed within 15 business days. Alternatively, you may initiate your refund immediately by submitting a self-service refund request online via MyServiceHub as soon as the refund credit is visible on your student account.

If you enrolled and paid for your course online, your refund will be issued back to your credit card.

Note: it may take up to 15 days for a refund credit to appear on your credit card statement from the time the refund is processed.

If you enrolled and paid for your course at the ServiceHub by credit card or another method of payment, your refund will be issued via e-transfer.

Note: it may take up to 15 days for your refund assessment to be processed from the time of your request.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Refunds

How to Request a Refund

If you are registered in a part-time degree program at Toronto Metropolitan University, you must refer to the Undergraduate Calendar for the refund policy and follow the undergraduate deadline dates.

If you are registered in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program, you must follow The Chang School of Continuing Education Important Dates and refund policy when dropping your continuing education courses.

When you drop your course online, a credit will be applied toward your MyServiceHub account. You are then able to request your refund online through MyServiceHub. If you enrol into additional courses, your credit will be applied toward these courses.

Refunds for Material Fees

Some course fees consist of a tuition portion and a material fees portion.

Individual course descriptions specify if their fees include a material component. For these courses, the material fee is refunded only to registrants who officially withdraw five business days prior to the first scheduled class (refer to Full Refund: Classroom and Online Courses at Important Dates). After this time, the material fees are not eligible for refund.

Refunds for Cancelled Courses

Refunds for cancelled courses will be processed automatically. A refund cheque will be mailed within 15 days or issued to your credit card depending on how you made your original payment.

If you do not receive your refund within 15 days, please contact the ServiceHub.
