Course DescriptionNonprofit organizations need to develop relationships with different levels of government, join with coalitions and partners and engage communities to raise awareness and advocate for system change. This course provides students with an understanding of the public policy process and the legal and political environment for advocacy. Topics include understanding the environment; developing an advocacy plan; working through coalitions, alliances and collaborations; communications and social media; evidence and data; effective government relations strategies.
