CSAC 348 - Uta Hagen: Methodology and Practice Workshop III

Course Description

Building on the work begun in CSAC 346 and 347, Section III of the Hagen series continues to explore and practice specific acting exercises designed by legendary actor and acting teacher Uta Hagen. It is based on the understanding that Acting is Doing and that our work as actors in a play is Intention Based within the Given Circumstances. This course coalesces the previously explored individual exercises into an over-all understanding of how an actor finds an active, truthful, and theatrically interesting connection to the play. It will include partnering and text analysis. There will be a public sharing of the work at the end of the class to present the work in progress.
