Course Description

Performers, and the characters they portray, experience status relationships with their environment, with the text, the story, and with every other character in the scene. This course invites students to examine and engage with the dynamic shifting of these status roles through improvisation and short scene work. We endeavour to identify what inherent qualities status relationships involve, such as power, control, admiration, and devotion. To be transformed, we learn to embrace the joy of letting go.
