Join Jeffrey Canton for four talks about some summer-themed novels that try to capture the heat of this sensational season. Tove Jansson’s The Summer Book, Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine, Rumer Godden’s Greengage Summer and J.L.Carr’s A Month in the Country all manage to capture the essence of this most elusive time of year that is never quite long enough. Each talk will tell you something about the writers of these classics and give you a taste of the books themselves and come tell us something about the books that you’re reading on these lazy summer.
