Course Description

This course explores advanced copy-editing concepts, with a special emphasis on stylistic (line) editing. It???s designed for students who have completed Copy and Stylistic Editing I, and for editors who want to enhance their skills. Topics include understanding the differences between copy and stylistic editing; respecting the author???s voice; adjusting language and reading level to suit the intended audience; editing figures and tables; and learning to clarify meaning, improve readability, and polish prose.
