Course Description

Adaptive reuse is the future of sustainable urban buildings for sustainability, the mitigation of climate change and global warming, and the development of low to no carbon built environments. Students learn tools and practices for evaluation, treatment in post-design, post-initial occupancy, and sustainable life cycles. Topics include the revitalization of buildings, landscapes and assets, adaptive reuse, modifications and sustainable resources to meet modern building codes and regulatory requirements, and to how employ energy and SMART building systems.
