Course DescriptionThis course provides an in-depth introduction to sustainability theory and green technology, renewable energy in a sustainable future, and why renewable energy is necessary for the future. Students will be introduced to different types of renewable energy technology such as: wind energy, solar, hydro-electric, geothermal energy, ocean thermal, fuel cells, heat pump systems, and high voltage DC energy transport. The implementation of these technologies is also studied to understand how they can work either in conjunction with, or a replacement for, conventional technologies.
