Course DescriptionThis class is for all lovers and practitioners of the most ancient and vibrant form of literature. We'll discuss great examples of the art, and listen to poets on tape. In-class exercises on such topics as voice, imagery, diction, rhyme, meter, and line-breaks will help you hone your craft, and you will get feedback from the instructor and your fellow students in a supportive workshop environment. A field trip to the lively Toronto performance scene will provide an opportunity for students to read their own poems in public.
