Course DescriptionThis course examines the publishing of fiction. Specific topics examined are working with creative writers; particular problems of novels, short stories, or collections; genre editing; and formula fiction. The course provides hands-on experience in how to evaluate problems in fiction manuscripts and the various types of editing (structural, stylistic, copy) they require. It focuses on problems that are specific to fiction, such as dialogue, setting, and character development.
