Boost your crime-analysis skills with a Crime Analytics certificate

Did you know that in law-enforcement and security agencies, crime analyst jobs are usually performed by civilians? That means you don’t have to be a police officer to help combat criminal behaviour.

The Chang School’s Certificate in Crime Analytics can give you all the tools you need to help protect our communities and corporations from wrongdoing. This crime analyst certification will teach you how to perform crime analysis that can improve tactical and strategic decision-making in law enforcement. Plus, you can get your crime analysis certification at your own pace and start applying for intelligence analyst and crime analyst jobs in just one year.

Crime analytics are evolving all the time, so our expert instructors – who are active in the field – update the course content regularly with real-world data to give you experience working on the most pressing current issues and problems.

Many programs only teach data display and mapping techniques, but our crime analysis certificate offers more in-depth and in-demand training around intelligence analysis, data interpretation, and presentation skills. You’ll also master the latest geographical information software (GIS) being used in the market today, including ArcGIS Pro and QGIS. (And no prior GIS experience is required!) All courses prioritize social responsibility, so you’ll learn how to be a good data steward, too.

You’ll finish off your certificate with a crime analysis capstone project that teaches you how to apply everything you’ve learned in law enforcement. After that, you’ll be ready to enter the fast-moving world of crime analytics and get your first crime analyst job – we’re excited to help you make a difference.
