Signing In

Is there an easier way to put my Two Factor Authentication code without having to remember the 6-digits?

Yes! For iOS users, you can double-tap on the two-factor authentication code to copy it easily; For Android users, you can long-press on the two-factor authentication code to copy it. Then on the my.torontomu login, you can paste the code you just copied.

I'm getting prompted for Two-Factor Authentication?

If you logged into Chang+ with your @torontomu.ca credentials, you completed this step already and are enjoying the full benefits of Chang+. For instructions on setting up two-factor authentication, please see Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

Profile Settings

I can't see anything under my courses, why is this?

Stay tuned! The my courses feature will be coming in 2022.

Can I see my grades in the app?

Not yet, but in 2022 this will be a feature within the app.

Can I show which program I am in on my Profile?

Yes, in your bio you can add whatever information you would like to include. This could be the courses you are taking, preferred pronouns, career interests.

Can I show my preferred pronouns on my Profile?

Yes, in your bio you can add whatever information you would like to include. This could be the courses you are taking, preferred pronouns, career interests.

How do I update or add to my Profile?

Click on the person icon at the bottom right hand corner of the app, then the gear icon at the top right hand corner, then "Edit Profile".

How do I change or view my personal Settings in the App?

Click on the person icon at the bottom right hand corner of the app, then the gear icon at the top right hand corner, and the settings/options can be adjusted from there to your preferences.

How do I add a profile picture?

Visit your profile and click the settings icon in the top right corner, then "edit profile". There you will have the option to add a profile photo, background photo and a bio. This can be edited at any time.

Can I choose which notifications I receive?

Yes, if you visit the "settings" icon in the top right corner of your profile you will see a menu option for "notifications". In this menu you can turn off any notifications you do not wish to receive including likes on my posts, inbox notifications and friend requests.

Student Community

How do I report a negative/inappropriate comment on the student feed/in a community group?

Using the three dots at the side of a post you can report the content. This will then be flagged to Chang School staff.

Do The Chang School monitor the community tab?

The Chang School monitor the main student feed and community groups but do not have access to 1-1 messages between two users.

How do I add somebody as my friend?

Click on the user's profile and select the "Add friend" button. Students will have the option whether to accept or decline a friend request.

How do I remove somebody as my friend?

Visit the user's profile and select the "friends" text. A message will then pop up asking if you want to "unfriend" the user and you then press unfriend. Alternatively you can select the three dots at the top of a user's profile and block them.

How can I find out more about someone before deciding if I want to Add them as a Friend or Accept their Friend invitation?

If you search the user's name you will be directed to their profile where you will see their full name and bio. You can remove a friend at any time by visiting the "my friends" section of your profile.

Why can't I comment or like something someone else has posted?

You might be looking at someone's post via the "Notifications" (bell icon at the bottom of the app) instead of via the "Student Feed". To comment or like, you need to click on the middle icon (dialog bubble) "Student Feed" at the bottom of the app first.

Events

How do I sign up for an Event in the app?

First visit the "Events" section and scroll to an event you are interested in attending. Then click into the event itself and click on the webinar registration link. You can also add the event to your calendar.

How do I "Check In" to a Chang School Event using my Chang+ app?

The top left icon on the Chang+ app is a QR code scanner, which you can use to check into Chang School Events. The Event host would let you know to scan in by showing a QR code on the screen for you to scan using the QR Code scanner.

Tech Advice

How do I sync the app to my Toronto Metropolitan University calendar?

Syncing the calendar in Chang+ with your native calendar and your Torontomu.ca calendar will copy everything you add to your calendar in Chang+ to your other calendars. It will also write what is in your other calendars to Chang+. For further assistance, you can view Smart Calendar and Calendar Syncing.

Why would I install the Brightspace Pulse mobile app too?

The Brightspace Pulse app allows you to access your D2L courses in an app specifically designed for D2L. it should offer a smoother experience when compare to the mobile web experience.

Why would I install the TMU Safe mobile app too?

The TMU Safe App provides TMU-wide emergency alerts, COVID requirements, etc that would be helpful for students particularly if they need to access campus facilities.

What do the icons at the top of the app mean?

The top left icon is a QR code scanner, which you can use to check into Chang School Events. The top right icon (shield) is where you can find out more about the TMU Safe app and how to download.
